What Do You Really Want?

Who Are The Wiked?

The Wicked, Who Are They?

Pro 21:27  Religious performance by the wicked stinks; it's even worse when they use it to get ahead.

Psa 119:155  "Salvation" is only gibberish to the wicked because they've never looked it up in your dictionary.

Psa 58:3  The wicked crawl from the wrong side of the cradle; their first words out of the womb are lies.

Pro 24:25  But whoever exposes the wicked will be thanked and rewarded.

Isa 57:20  But the wicked are storm-battered seas that can't quiet down. The waves stir up garbage and mud.

Isa 48:22  "There is no peace," says GOD, "for the wicked."

Pro 28:1  The wicked are edgy with guilt, ready to run off even when no one's after them; Honest people are relaxed and confident, bold as lions.

Pro 13:25  An appetite for good brings much satisfaction, but the belly of the wicked always wants more.

Pro 11:23  The desires of good people lead straight to the best, but wicked ambition ends in angry frustration.

Pro 10:20  The speech of a good person is worth waiting for; the blabber of the wicked is worthless.

Pro 10:11  The mouth of a good person is a deep, life-giving well, but the mouth of the wicked is a dark cave of abuse.

Pro 10:6  Blessings accrue on a good and honest life, but the mouth of the wicked is a dark cave of abuse.

Psa 147:6  GOD puts the fallen on their feet again and pushes the wicked into the ditch.

Psa 97:10  GOD loves all who hate evil, And those who love him he keeps safe, Snatches them from the grip of the wicked.

Psa 39:1  A David psalm. I'm determined to watch steps and tongue so they won't land me in trouble. I decided to hold my tongue as long as Wicked is in the room.

Psa 37:1  A David psalm. Don't bother your head with braggarts or wish you could succeed like the wicked.

Psa 34:21  The wicked commit slow suicide; they waste their lives hating the good.

Psa 12:7  GOD, keep us safe from their lies, From the wicked who stalk us with lies,

Psa 11:2  the evil bows are bent, the wicked arrows Aimed to shoot under cover of darkness at every heart open to God.

Psa 9:17  The wicked bought a one-way ticket to hell.

Psa 9:16  They have no excuse; the way God works is well-known. The cunning machinery made by the wicked has maimed their own hands.

Pro 29:27  Good people can't stand the sight of deliberate evil; the wicked can't stand the sight of well-chosen goodness.

Subject: The Good

Psa 1:1  How well God must like you-- you don't hang out at Sin Saloon, you don't slink along Dead-End Road, you don't go to Smart-Mouth College.

Psa 1:2  Instead you thrill to GOD's Word, you chew on Scripture day and night.

Psa 1:3  You're a tree replanted in Eden, bearing fresh fruit every month, Never dropping a leaf, always in blossom.

Psa 1:4  You're not at all like the wicked, who are mere windblown dust--

Psa 1:5  Without defense in court, unfit company for innocent people.

Psa 1:6  GOD charts the road you take. The road they take is Skid Row.

Subject: Let us not be actors of the wicked

Psa 10:2  Full of hot air, the wicked are hot on the trail of the poor. Trip them up, tangle them up in their fine-tuned plots.

Psa 10:3  are windbags, the swindlers have foul breath.

Psa 10:4  The wicked snub GOD, their noses stuck high in the air. Their graffiti are scrawled on the walls: "Catch us if you can!" "God is dead."

Psa 10:5  They care nothing for what you think; if you get in their way, they blow you off.

Psa 10:6  They live (they think) a charmed life: "We can't go wrong. This is our blessed year!"

Psa 10:7  They carry a mouthful of hexes, their tongues spit venom like adders.

Psa 10:8  They hide behind ordinary people, then pounce on their victims.

Psa 10:9  They mark the downtrodden, then wait like a hunter in a blind; When the poor wretch wanders too close, they stab him in the back.

Psa 10:10  The hapless fool is kicked to the ground, the downtrodden victim is brutally axed.

Psa 10:11  He thinks God has dumped him, he's sure that God is indifferent to his plight.

Psa 10:12  Time to get up, GOD--get moving. The downtrodden think they're Godforsaken.

Psa 10:13  They wonder why the wicked scorn God and get away with it, Why the wicked are so cocksure they'll never come up for audit.

Psa 10:14  But you know all about it-- the contempt, the abuse. I dare to believe that the downtrodden can be blessed someday in you. You won't let them down: orphans won't be orphans forever.

Psa 10:15  Break the wicked right arms, break all the evil left arms. Search and destroy every sign of crime.

Psa 10:16  GOD's grace and order wins; godlessness loses.

Psa 10:17  The victim's faint pulse picks up; the hearts of the hopeless pump red blood as you put your ear to their lips.

Psa 10:18  Orphans get parents, the homeless get homes. The reign of terror is over, the rule of the gang lords is ended.

Subject: Directions for the children of JESUS

Psa 37:1  A David psalm. Don't bother your head with braggarts or wish you could succeed like the wicked.

Psa 37:2  In no time they'll shrivel like grass clippings and wilt like cut flowers in the sun.

Psa 37:3  Get insurance with GOD and do a good deed, settle down and stick to your last.

Psa 37:4  Keep company with GOD, get in on the best.

Psa 37:5  Open up before GOD, keep nothing back; he'll do whatever needs to be done:

Psa 37:6  He'll validate your life in the clear light of day and stamp you with approval at high noon.

Psa 37:7  Quiet down before GOD, be prayerful before him. Don't bother with those who climb the ladder, who elbow their way to the top.

Psa 37:8  Bridle your anger, trash your wrath, cool your pipes--it only makes things worse.

Psa 37:9  Before long the crooks will be bankrupt; GOD-investors will soon own the store.

Psa 37:10  Before you know it, the wicked will have had it; you'll stare at his once famous place and--nothing!

Psa 37:11  Down-to-earth people will move in and take over, relishing a huge bonanza.

Psa 37:12  Bad guys have it in for the good guys, obsessed with doing them in.

Psa 37:13  But GOD isn't losing any sleep; to him they're a joke with no punch line.

Psa 37:14  Bullies brandish their swords, pull back on their bows with a flourish. They're out to beat up on the harmless, or mug that nice man out walking his dog.

Psa 37:15  A banana peel lands them flat on their faces-- slapstick figures in a moral circus.

Psa 37:16  Less is more and more is less. One righteous will outclass fifty wicked,

Psa 37:17  For the wicked are moral weaklings but the righteous are GOD-strong.

Psa 37:18  GOD keeps track of the decent folk; what they do won't soon be forgotten.

Psa 37:19  In hard times, they'll hold their heads high; when the shelves are bare, they'll be full.

Psa 37:20  God-despisers have had it; GOD's enemies are finished-- Stripped bare like vineyards at harvest time, vanished like smoke in thin air.

Psa 37:21  Wicked borrows and never returns; Righteous gives and gives.

Psa 37:22  Generous gets it all in the end; Stingy is cut off at the pass.

Psa 37:23  Stalwart walks in step with GOD; his path blazed by GOD, he's happy.

Psa 37:24  If he stumbles, he's not down for long; GOD has a grip on his hand.

Psa 37:25  I once was young, now I'm a graybeard-- not once have I seen an abandoned believer, or his kids out roaming the streets.

Psa 37:26  Every day he's out giving and lending, his children making him proud.

Psa 37:27  Turn your back on evil, work for the good and don't quit.

Psa 37:28  GOD loves this kind of thing, never turns away from his friends. Live this way and you've got it made, but bad eggs will be tossed out.

Psa 37:29  The good get planted on good land and put down healthy roots.

Psa 37:30  Righteous chews on wisdom like a dog on a bone, rolls virtue around on his tongue.

Psa 37:31  His heart pumps God's Word like blood through his veins; his feet are as sure as a cat's.

Psa 37:32  Wicked sets a watch for Righteous, he's out for the kill.

Psa 37:33  GOD, alert, is also on watch-- Wicked won't hurt a hair of his head.

Psa 37:34  Wait passionately for GOD, don't leave the path. He'll give you your place in the sun while you watch the wicked lose it.

Psa 37:35  I saw Wicked bloated like a toad, croaking pretentious nonsense.

Psa 37:36  The next time I looked there was nothing-- a punctured bladder, vapid and limp.

Psa 37:37  Keep your eye on the healthy soul, scrutinize the straight life; There's a future in strenuous wholeness.

Psa 37:38  But the willful will soon be discarded; insolent souls are on a dead-end street.

Psa 37:39  The spacious, free life is from GOD, it's also protected and safe.

Psa 37:40  GOD-strengthened, we're delivered from evil-- when we run to him, he saves us.
